Research Function
 

The research function is a Bank-wide resource of highly skilled professionals contributing to the operational work of the Bank and the broader development policy arena. The vision of the research function is for the DBSA to be recognised as a leading centre of applied research producing quality research and shaping public discourse and policy development towards sustainable solutions for Africa’s development challenges.

The mandate of the research function is to analyze the social, political and economic environments and seek out sustainable solutions to the development challenges facing the country and the region. Its key contribution is in the provision of quality research and engagements to facilitate evidence-based development policy.

The objectives of the function are to:

·   Empower the Bank with a better understanding of the environment in which it operates

·   Generate findings in areas that have the potential for the  Policy, Advisory Services, Information Services and Intellectual Capital.  research
