Governments across the world are faced with challenges of increased energy demands and strained energy generation resources. As a result, the world's energy sector is at a crossroads. Current generation methods use fossil-fuel that damages the environment. There is need to find alternatives that are less destructive to the environment. The Development Bank of Southern Africa is geared to finance projects aiming to invest in the production of renewable energy. We believe that our projects should be safe for humanity, have sustainable benefits and lay a solid foundation from which the economics of the region can emerge and thrive.

Will South Africa reach meet its renewable energy target of producing 10000 gigawatt hours by 2013?  will we have power cuts?
