Development Planning Division

Working Paper Series

The Development Planning Division of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) produces a substantial volume of knowledge products to meet the various needs of clients and users inside and outside of the Bank.

These knowledge products are the outcome of research, analysis and consultation and engagement activities of the DBSA. Some products are the work of staff within the Division, others, the fruit of collaboration between DBSA staff and partner research and development institutions.

These products deserve a wider readership because they present novel perspectives on issues and subjects that should be of interest to development practitioners in general, to professionals based in development finance institutions, and to academics and researchers regionally, and further afield. Our expectation is that this initiative can bring the Bank closer to the communities that it seeks to support, and also improve awareness in civil society of the work of the Bank.

This Development Planning Division Working Paper Series provides the opportunity to share a selection of research papers and reports to promote constructive deliberation and to inform policy development.

This working paper series will grow as new products from the Division become available.  Parallel to the Series, a series of technical documents will be released as part of the Development Planning Division Technical Paper Series.
