The REMT project was launched to help South Africa eliminate barriers to renewable energy development through support for policy, regulation, legislation, financing mechanisms, institutional capacity building and grant finance for selected project development. The project has two main components, the Renewable Energy Power Generation (REPG) sub-component and the Solar Water Heating (SWH) sub-component.
In an endeavor to promote and assist this market transformation, the REMT unit requires a website that is informative and will support the objectives of the project. As the REMT project is mandated to be a repository for Renewable Energy resource information, a website that can act as the first point of contact to the project is required for information dissemination. The main objectives of this consulting assignment are:
1. To create a concept design for the website
2. Website Development with two (2) home pages each with its own content
3. Registration and set-up for address of a suitable web address
4. Hosting and Maintenance The Department of Energy (DoE) has appointed the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) to assist with implementation of the REMT project through the REMT Implementation Support Unit (ISU) that has been established within DBSA.
Through the REMT ISU, the Department of Energy now invites eligible consultancy firms to indicate their interests in providing their services. Interested consultancy firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services for which they are expressing their interests (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultancy firms may associate on joint venture or sub-consultancy basis to enhance their qualifications.
