The Launch was recently hosted by Nepad Agency, AFDB and JICA at a two day conference in Sandton.
The OSBP Source book is a multi -organisational initiative led by ICA, AFDB and funded by DBSA’s Strategic Partners, JICA. It is a complete guide and best practice tool in how best to co-ordinate and overcome the impediments to intra-Africa trade. The aim of the Source book is to serve as a base document and it sets out the legal and facilitation framework to ensure the ease of movement of people, goods and services across Africa’s borders. The ultimate aim is to ensure the integration and growth of African Economies through improved cross-border transactions.
“The Sourcebook is a practical and relevant toolkit in addressing the challenges around transport and logistics which greatly impact the full participation of African Exporters” said Mxolisi Notshulwana, Programme Specialist: International Finance. The statement was supported by JICA/SA Country representative, Ms Tomomi Tokuori who said “JICA was delighted to have invested in an integrated border management tool in order to address the development of corridors”.
