What is the LGRC
- A practical one-stop support centre for municipalities that will empower today's senior municipal professional and councillor; and from a gateway to local government knowledge
- The LGRC is directly accessible to all municipalities and other local government stakeholders through a virtual private electronic network known as the LGNet

Why is the DBSA involved in the LGRC?
- The DBSA is a development institution and it is part of its mandate to provide developmental support
- Municipalities are the main client-base of the DBSA
Who is DBSA in partnership with in this initiative?
- No partnerships amongst local government stakeholders are essential to ensure optimum support to municipalities
- CoGTA, SALGA and LGSETA are equal partners in
the LGRC.
- Apart from CoGTA, SALGA and LGSETA, the DBSA has entered into numerous partnerships with major stakeholders to enhance sharing, pooling, co-operation and to prevent duplication.
- When will the LGRC be operational and what will it cost?
- Numerous municipalities, some provincial governments and other institutions such as the Demarcation Board have already been connected. More than 91% of municipalities are already involved and more are being connected as new applications are received.
- The LGRC is live an already in use, at no cost to municipalities. It is a completely free service to local government
