DBSA Statement on Scopa Briefing

2021-06-09

The DBSA notes SCOPA’s decision to hold an inquiry into allegations made by Mr. Bantu Holomisa relating to maladministration, mismanagement and corruption at the DBSA.

The DBSA respects the decision and pledges to co-operate fully with the envisaged inquiry.

The inquiry presents the DBSA with a unique opportunity to finally and emphatically refute these allegations and therefore we welcome the opportunity to work with SCOPA as well as all other relevant legislative institutions.

The DBSA has already taken multiple steps to protect its rights and reputation by proactively addressing the allegations. This has included the appointment of independent experts to interrogate the veracity of the allegations, co-operating fully with all public institutions and other legislative entities.

The DBSA wishes to reassure all parties that it subscribes to the highest standards of corporate governance, integrity and ethics. DBSA’s commitment to these ideals is one which is jealously guarded and is intrinsic in every step it takes in fulfilling its mandate of delivering significant development impact to the citizens of South Africa.
