The local government sector is an investment area where the DBSA holds extensive expertise and we work with all three sectors of local government i.e. metros, secondary and under-resourced municipalities.

DBSA looks to support the development and funding of renewable energy projects from a multitude of investors to assist in building and transforming Africa.

 DBSA continuously seeks investment opportunities from both the private and public sectors as well as co-financiers where ICT projects can be developed for immediate or preparation funding.

DBSA’s function within this sector is to pursue infrastructure investment for projects tailored for the development of bridges, roads, bus stations, railways, terminals, airports, seaports, border ports and more.

We offer a range of financial and non-financial solutions for the water and sanitation sector that address South Africa’s infrastructure water and sanitation challenges.

DBSA’s Social Infrastructure Sector’s mandate includes the funding of projects and transactions in the Education Sector.

DBSA’s purpose is to support public and private infrastructure projects that promote sustainable development and are aligned with the needs of each beneficiary as well as the policies and goals of the Department of Health.
