The Southern Africa Industrial Decarbonization Facility

The Southern African Industrial Decarbonization Facility (“SIDF” or the “Programme”) is a blended finance facility designed to accelerate industrial decarbonization and enabling infrastructure in South Africa and Namibia. It is part of an umbrella fund namely Climate Investor 3 (CI3) managed by Climate Fund Managers (“CFM”).  CI3 is specifically designed to address the challenges of industrial decarbonization and it envisages a national approach, facilitated by CI3 Global as a central feeder and focusing on South Africa (via “SA-H2 Fund”) and Namibia (via “Namibia SDG One”).

As part of the process of submitting a Funding Proposal to the Green Climate Fund (“GCF”) for the SIDF, an Environmental and Social Management System for the Programme (Category I-1) is required to be disclosed 120 days before the GCF Board Meeting by the Accredited Entity, being the Development Bank of Southern Africa.

Please note that the ESMS for Climate Investor Three (CI3) serves as the ESMS for the Southern African Industrial Decarbonization Facility (SIDF).
