The Waste Management Flagship Programme (the Programme) is one of the eight ‘Near-term priority flagship programmes’ outlined in South Africa’s National Climate Change Response Policy.

South Africa is projecting a 17% water deficit by 2030, which is likely to be worsened by the impact of climate change. Our country needs to reduce its demand for water while increasing supply.

The MCLM appointed various service providers to resolve the water and sanitations in three key areas namely, water reticulation, installation of prepaid meters and sanitation.
